We are happy to announce expansion of our current tolling capabilities to 15 million lbs. per year. S&E is uniquely equipped to handle a customer’s tolling needs in a wide variety of polymers including PVC, PVC alloys, Low Smoke Zero Halogen, TPOs, TPRs and flame retardant & UV based concentrates.
“This is a service that many of our customers kept asking us for and we wanted to accommodate the increased demand,” said Duane Shooltz, President & COO of S&E Specialty Polymers. “We have now reached the point that we feel we can meet their tolling needs with the level of quality and service that we have always held for ourselves. As a result, we are happy to strengthen our tolling presence in the marketplace and help our customers in even more ways than before.”
S&E Specialty Polymers offers its customers complete toll compounding services. The manufacturer can supply S&E with the raw materials and the formulas they wish to use, and benefit from S&E’s extensive processing knowledge and engineering experience. S&E has also worked with customers to develop formulas to meet their specific requirements through non-disclosure agreements and then used S&E’s purchasing power to produce a less expensive product.
Part of what makes S&E unique is the wide range of processing equipment in their plant, combined with a state-of-the-art lab. Key processing equipment includes an FCM equipped with three gravimetric feeders with different rotor configurations, a Banbury two roll mill, a Banbury extruder, a high speed/high torque twin screw extruder with four gravimetric feeds, oil injectors, and customizable screw configurations, and a state of the art R&D 28m twin screw extruder. The lab contains a variety of quality control and R&D testing equipment, including a light booth, a weather-ometer, an izod tester, spectrophotometers, tensile testers, melt flow analyzers, a 30-ton Boy injection molding machine, and several laboratory extruders.
The entire process is customizable depending on customer needs, something S&E prides itself on for its own compounds, with custom blending, pelletizing, packaging, and labeling, as well as specialty compounding and warehousing. They will even assist customers by sharing R&D for both compounds and critical color matching.
